About 52 Pick-Up:
This “Best of Toronto Fringe” winning production combines sharp writing and improvisation, 52 PICK-UP swerves from romantic comedy to quiet heartbreak at the drop of a card as two people navigate through the events of their relationship.
How it works: 52 scene titles are written on an ordinary deck of playing cards. At the top of each show actors toss the cards in the air and the story follows the order in which they are randomly picked up. No two shows are ever the same!
Written by award winning playwrights TJ Dawe (The F Word, Medicine, The One Man Star Wars Trilogy) and Rita Bozi (Trouser Parts, Bloodline) this 75-minute play highlights the hysterical and heartbreaking truths about falling in love.
Directed by Courtney Ch’ng Lancaster (Of Human Bondage, Blood Wedding, Soulpepper Theatre) & Paolo Santalucia (Idiots Delight, Soulpepper Theatre; Mustard, The Tarragon Theatre), 52 PICK-UP features various alternating casts.
